Summer dramas info ^^
Well, the summer drama season is right around the corner, so here’s the new dramas which worth a look.
Japanese dramas [Jdrama]:
? Shimane no Bengoshi > Yukie Nakama<3 will star as a lawyer in this Fuji TV drama special, based on a manga of the same name by Masahito Kagawa and Tetsuo Aoki which is currently being serialized in Business Jump. The special is scheduled to broadcast early this summer.
? LIFE > The second series to occupy Fuji TV’s new Saturday 11:10pm drama is the adaptation of Keiko Suenobu’s popular manga “LIFE”, known for its realistic depiction of a high schooler being bullied. So far, the manga’s 14 volumes have sold a total of 6.5 million copies. Actress Kie Kitano will star as the protagonist, Ayumu Shiiba. The series begins on June 30.
? Hotaru no Hikari > Satoru Hiura’s popular shoujo manga is being adapted into a drama series on NTV. The manga has been serialized in Kodansha’s Kiss since 2004. Haruka Ayase<3 stars as the protagonist Hotaru Amemiya, a twenty-something office lady with no interest in love, and who prefers to spend her time lazily at home. Naohito Fujiki<3, Kazuki Kato <333 and Ryoko Kuninaka are included in the cast. The series begins in July, and will air on Wednesdays at 10:00pm.
? Tantei Gakuen Q > NTV has confirmed that there will be a “Tantei Gakuen Q” drama series this summer. The story is based on the manga of the same name by Tadashi Agi (under the pen name of Seimaru Amagi) about a group of young students at a detective academy founded by a legendary detective.The manga was turned into a drama special on NTV last July. The upcoming series will feature many of the same cast members, including Ryunosuke Kamiki and Mirai Shida. Other confirmed cast : Ryosuke Yamada <333 (of Johnny’s Jr.), Jun Kaname<3, Takanori Jinnai.
The series begins on July 3, airing on Tuesdays at 10:00pm.
? Yama Onna Kabe Onna > Actress Misaki Itoh<3 (in the role of “kabe onna”/wall-woman) will star in this Fuji TV’s summer drama. The series is an adaptation of Atsuko Takakura’s manga which was serialized in Kodansha’s Evening KC magazine.
There is no official word yet on who will play the role of the “yama onna”/mountain woman, but rumor says it’s Kyoko Fukada<3 (onegai, onegai, onegai~!).
The series begins on July 5, airing Thursdays at 10:00pm.
? Yamada Taro Monogatari > Arashi members Kazunari Ninomiya and Sho Sakurai will star together in the this TBS drama series which is based on Ai Morinaga’s comedy manga of the same name, serialized in the shojo magazine “Monthly Asuka”. The series starts in July, airing every Friday at 10:00pm.
Korean dramas [Kdrama]:
? Money’s Warfare > Adapted from Park Yi Kwon’s manhwa, “War of Money”, this drama is about moneylenders, money bankers & everything that deals with money :LoL:. Currently airing (air date: May 16, Wednesdays & Thursdays at 21:55pm).
? The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince > This drama is based from a romantic comedy manhwa by Lee Sun Mi. The heroine, Go Eun Chae (Yoon Eun Hye <3), disguises herself as a man in order to avoid an arranged marriage. She works in a coffee specialty shop and then falls in love with the hot-tempered president of the shop, Choi Han Kyul (Gong Yoo). The series begins on July 16, airing Monday and Tuesday at 21:55pm.
Taiwanese dramas [TWdrama]:
? Why Why Love > Love was the last thing poor girl Tong Jia Di (Rainie Yang<3) needed or wanted in her life. But, at one of her many part-time jobs, her life was exchanged for love through a ruffle ticket. She was introduced to two brothers (Mike He & Kingone <3) with extremely different personalities.
